Marcelo helps Andrew defend and escape from the Guillotine-Choke from Closed-Guard: Ideally, one should defend against the Guillotine as early as possible by tucking your chin, clearing your hips to the side, and fighting your opponent's hands. However, if you get caught inside your opponent's Closed-Guard, don't let them stretch you out and help expose your neck to pressure; stack your opponent opponent by driving up onto your tip-toes while you work to free your neck. Break your opponent's grip by addressing whichever hand is empty; you may need to either pull or push it depending on which grip your opponent uses. If your opponent is pinning down your legs and ignoring your hips, pry yourself out of their guard by pushing down at their knees as if taking off a pair of pants, and fall to your side where you can then take top position in Side-Control.
