Focusing on Smaller Errors
Marcelo briefly congratulates his team and reminds them of what to work on next: Competing successfully requires knowledge over several hierarchical domains; one must be sound in strategy, tactics, and technique. Each of these specific areas can be further divided into a set of scale-oriented factors, all of which can be described in terms of meta-, macro-, meso-, and micro-analysis. He notices that early in the careers of his athletes, mistakes were often made at the meta or macro levels. The remedy for which was typically obvious to inform and thus develop immediate reformulations of approach. Later, after many triumphs and defeats, the size of individual problems can become sufficiently complex yet quite subtle in character. If we are to continue to succeed at the highest levels and perform to the best of our abilities, focus and effort must be made in sussing out these often imperceptible differences in movement in order to hone our skills and improve our abilities.
