Posture Escape vs Triangle, Breaking the Closed Guard
2 Part Technique - The very first thing you need to do once your head and arm are captured inside of a Triangle, is to frame for posture. Using the hand of the arm trapt inside, grab the same-side collar of your opponent's jacket and reinforce your grip with your other hand, all the while keeping your head high. Grabbing the cross-side lapel will not be stable enough to prevent your arm from slipping across his belly into danger. Next, block his hip from escaping by wedging the point of your knee onto his lap, and wait for his legs to tire. Once the Triangle loosens up, either bring your trapt arm out or your other arm in, and immediately make him pay for his attempt with a pass or guard break.
