Circling-Pass vs Open-Guard, Side-Control to Back-Mount, Rear-Naked Choke
3-Part Advanced Lesson -- Bernardo shows a nogi variation of the Torreando-Pass to take the back: Pin your opponent's hip down while posting against their knee as you circle around heavily into Side-Control. Quickly switch from their legs to their upper-body and pummel for a far-side under-hook before your opponent has a chance to turn away and escape from your hold-down. [1:42] If your opponent hides their far-elbow from your under-hook, go for Seat-Belt Control instead and pull them onto the inside of your knee for Back-Mount. Set both of your hooks before hunting down their hands and shooting an arm across their neck for the Rear-Naked Choke. [3:09] Don't allow your opponent to turn-over onto their knees once you've landed in Side-Control; jump onto their back the moment they turn away and begin exposing their shoulders off of the mat.
