2 Part Technique - Escaping Side Control requires that you first create space to move into, however this can be quite difficult to accomplish when you're biggest tool for making space, your bridge, happens to be compromised by a tight crossface from your opponent's Underhook and Head Control. To release this pressure off your face so you can utilize your full bridging power, pull off his shoulder and bicep from your face by grabbing his tricep and framing against his shoulder. However, it is important that when you grab his tricep, you do so not by reaching out from your side, but with a mini-bridge, so as to not expose your elbow against further control. With the pressure off, you can successfully continue your Foot Wipe Escape using the full power of your bridge to the Closed Guard. Alternatively, you can transition to Butterfly Guard instead and go on the offensive with a Hook Sweep.

Awesome point about the bicep torque to take off the cross-face pressure.  It's unfortunate that you wouldn't know that gem is in the video just from the title description.
