4 Part Technique - Before your opponent can establish his weight on your chest from side control, lock out your arms and brace against his pressure. Switch out your hands against his weight by replacing them with your inside leg on his hip and pushing away his chest with your outside foot to recover the guard. If the opponent deflects his weight off of your hands by switching his base, use your hand or forearm to block his far arm from collecting your head. Rock your legs up and down to generate enough momentum to sit up and push him off you to reestablish the guard. If he switches his base back again to counter your Sit Up Escape, hip escape mid-rock to create enough space between you to insert your legs back for guard.
