3 Part Technique - Passing the Guard and Halfguard using Over / Under Control. This is one of Marcelo's favorite Guard Passes. The Nogi version is exactly the same, except you would use Head and Underhook Control if you or your opponent has too much sweat to control with the Over and Under.

I have a question with this pass and I'm hoping someone can help me out. When I go for this pass, and I initially get his inside leg flat on the mat, am I supposed to be able to keep that pinned? I have an easy enough time getting the leg flat but I can't keep it flat. I can even flatten it back out again but then we just start chasing each other's tails. He keeps popping it back up on me, and I keep flattening it out. Is it that I just can't camp out there, and as soon as it's flat I have to immediately put the foot on his leg and start pushing for the pass, or is there something wrong with how I have my hips and where I'm putting my pressure that's allowing him to pop his knee back up?

This is the best guard pass ever! When Professor Marcelo taught us this technique, my top game was in Nirvana. This such an incredible step by step perfect guard pass.  This is huge tool for the JiuJitsu artist's tool belt! You have to love it!!!!
