3 Part Technique - After passing your opponent's guard, he may try to prevent you from establishing the Side Control by posting out his arms on your shoulder and hip. Take care of the post on your hip by deflecting it off as you switch your base. If he posts his other arm on your shoulder farthest from his head, simply parry it out of the way from the inside as you land. If he posts on your shoulder nearest to his head, applying the parry may leave you vulnerable for getting your back taken. Instead, swim your from the outside in and pummel for an underhook. Regardless of which method you end up using, finish the same way by securing the top position with Underhook & Head Control. If he escapes his hip while posting you away, follow him with Knee-On-Belly before hand fighting into Side Control. If he tries to turn up a single leg, sprawl it free and swing around to the other side. Either take his back if he doesn't return to face you, or pull him back flat with Double Arm Control. If he manages to bring his bottom knee in between you and the Side Control, run around his head to other side for one last attempt to score the pass.
