Underhook and Head Control from Side Control
2 Part Technique - It is common for an opponent to have a quicker reaction when you attempt to establish Side Control, instead of before you are trying to pass the guard. He will turtle to prevent points and probably Hip Roll to recover his guard. You don't want to get in the situation of uncertainty. This is why you want to establish Side Control, not only for the points. When you feel the opponent move away from you, under hook the far arm and compress the arms together. Use your chest to pressure the closer shoulder downwards, while tugging the arms to flatten the opponent's back to the mat for Side Control. If the opponent turns to much, face him with your body by running around with an under hook to flatten him again.
