2 Part Technique - The surest way to finishing the Double Leg Takedown is to properly set up your penetration step. This includes dislodging his hands away from the path of your arms and shoulders to his hips and legs. Utilize hand-fighting to accomplish this, and if you meet resistance via sprawl, step up to the outside and 'cut the corner' on your shot. That is, change the direction of your drive so that you finish off to the side, driving laterally and avoiding his guard. If he manages to sprawl and secure a front headlock, protect your neck and elbow from any potential chokes (arm triangles or guillotines), and pull Butterfly Guard by performing a Sit Out. Use your inserted hook to lift him overhead, forcing him to let go of the Front Headlock to post or get swept, losing the top position. If he holds on after being swept by the Hook Sweep, make sure to end up on the side of his body that doesn't favor his option to choke.
