Taking the Back from Front Headlock, Seatbelt Control from Back, Turtle to Back Control, Back Control Recovery, Rear Naked Choke
3 Part Technique - One of the most effective ways to take the back is from the Front Headlock position. Use your ball-n-socket grip (the same grip used for the guillotine and seatbelt) to push your opponent's elbow out of the way for your knee to occupy the space by his hip. Replace the headlock with Seatbelt Control, and rid yourself of your opponent's mobility by pulling his turtled position over onto your lap. It is important to establish the bottom hook first, the bottom of which refers to the side in your choking arm is on. Falling off to the wrong side once the Seatbelt has been fastened isn't the end of the world, but it certainly is the start for your opponent to escape the back. If you cannot set this hook upon falling to the choke-side, reset yourself by bellying down, driving your opponent up off his back, and setting the choke-side hook while he is sitting up. Your chest should be squarely affixed to the center of your opponent's back whenever controlling the back with Seatbelt Control. The genius of this control stems from it's proximity and ease to both the back mount, and the finish. If at any time your opponent lifts his chin away from his chest while holding the Seatbelt, immediately fire the Rear Naked Choke into action.
