2 Part Technique - The Guillotine from Mount is an excellent option for when your opponent is committed to defending his arms tightly against his chest while under Side Control. Roll him onto his side, making sure to not let him grab an underhook or single, and non-telegraphically wrap around both sides of his neck, closing off his carotid arteries with your forearm and lat. Secure the choke by connecting your hands with the Ball-n-Socket Grip; thereafter, will be your opportunity to mount his chest. He may be able to gain a small victory in bumping you over at this point; however, keep composed and maintain control of the choke for the Guillotine from Butterfly. If you do beat him in the transition and end up mounting on top, slide your forearm across his throat and shelf your elbow on his shoulder for the tap. The key detail here for generating the tremendous squeeze that Marcelo delivers during this choke is to take some weight off of your knees and redistribute it through your wrists, and subsequently his neck (notice this subtle, and for Henrique's sake, brief move @2m10s). If he is much more cautious laying on his side and protecting his neck better, use the Farside Underhook to divert attention away from the choke and focused toward the threat of a submission on his arm. Slap on the choke when his neck is exposed, but this time use your knee to scrape away his arm while you mount over since you traded the space to immediately shelf your elbow for the underhook and quicker grip.
