2 Part Technique - Over Under Control from North South is an excellent way to hunt for the finish while still staying dominant on top. Slide your body low to the mat and clip the side of your opponent's face with your ribs to push his neck open for the Arm-In North South Choke. If he's strong or his neck is still hidden, switch to the regular grip and finish the North South Choke with the Gable Grip. He may be able to capture your arm during this transition; remain heavy and clean up the choke using your knee to break off his defense.

If your lat isn't getting on his neck and getting stuck on the face it's because he is most likely staying tight and protecting his neck. You need to keep sliding back/away from your opponent which will open his neck up more for you to slide your lat in place. Also, try to keep rotating your body until you're completely lined up with him in the north south position, this slight angle difference could make a huge difference. If these don't work you could possibly work on your set up to attack his neck when it is more open. Hope this helps!
