Underhook and Head vs Half Guard, Back Step Pass vs Half Guard
2 Part Technique - React to your opponent's underhook from Half Guard with the Back Step Pass for Underhook & Head Control on the reverse side. If he hugs your leg, dig back your underhook while remaining heavy on top with your chest and begin freeing your leg from his guard. If he tries to get on top while you attempt to pass, perform a technical stand and whip him back down to the mat with your underhook. If he's determined to not let you dig for your underhook, lie all of your upper body weight, not your hip-weight, on top of him as you kick yourself free. Try to pull his top leg away to loosen up his guard or even to hold yourself on top if he tries to get on top still. Since you've passed without an underhook, hold him down with the weight of your torso and run for North South.
