Breaking the Closed Guard, Stacking Pass vs Open Guard
1 Part Technique - Your opportunities to effectively attack your opponent are severely limited if you're held inside his Closed Guard, and conversely, he will have a multitude of options and possibilities to threaten you with. Therefore, it is imperative to break out and pass his guard; and, this is accomplished by first gaining proper posture and standing up. Once broken open, assume a crouching posture and protect your hips and biceps as you pummel both hands underneath his legs for the Stacking Pass. A very common mistake made during this pass is to expose your tricep to the Elbow Push Escape.
