2 Part Lesson — Marcelo shows how to deal with an opponent who is defending against your Double Under Control from Butterfly Guard: [I] Before the opponent can fully extended his arm in a Frame, pull loose his skirt out from underneath his belt and feed the tail end behind his back, catching it in your cross hand. Next, block his other arm from framing against your face or shoulders and tie up his elbow for a Hook Sweep. [II] The opponent may try to defend your Rear Cross Lapel Control in three ways; one, if he continues to extend his frame, pull his arm across for the Cross Arm Trap -two, if he grips your collar to push you away, flex his elbow onto your chest -and three, if he tries to pummel an underhook, close your elbow tight to your body to block him. Regardless of the defense, finish by kicking out his knee and sweeping him in the direction of his now trapped arm.
