2 Part Lesson — Marcelo explains tactics against a recessive, kneeling passer: [I] Bait your opponent into 2on1 Control by extending your arm out and waiting for him to grab onto your wrist; when he does, feed his own wrist into your free hand as you roll out of his grip and cup behind his elbow for the 2on1. When he yanks his arm back, invade the space he leaves by scooting forward and pummeling inside for Double Under Control. Anticipate your opponent reeling backward in escape and counter his retreat by catching his sides with your hands and pulling him forward into your control. [II] If his weight falls forward too on top of you, lift his legs into the air with your hooks and attack his arm with an Inverted Armbar as you let him settle back down to his knees. If he doesn't plant his hands on the mat, you can always look for Over/Under Control and the Hook Sweep from Butterfly Guard.
