Sprawl vs Deep Half Entry, Underhook & Head Control Pass vs Half Guard, Leg Over Pass vs Deep Half, Sit Over vs Deep Half, Back Step Pass vs Deep Half Guard
2 Part Lesson — Marcelo shows what to do after diving in and facing the Deep Half: [I] Avoid both shoulderlocks (Kimura or Omoplata) and the Triangle, distribute your weight evenly between your upper and lower body, and connect your hands together for Underhook & Head Control. If your opponent tries to dig underneath for Deep Half by underhooking your free leg, shoot it back and sprawl heavily to counter his entry. Walk your foot high to place it on his knee for the pass. [II] If your opponent hoist your leg on top of his shoulder for Deep Half, choose which base to use while still on top and post your hands out to defend the sweep. Marcelo prefers to place his weight first in the leg trapped by the opponent's legs for the Leg Over Pass. If you prefer placing your weight in the opposite leg, the leg trapped by the opponent's arm, press his forehead down and hop over to the other side on your knee for the Back Step Pass.
