2 Part Lesson — Marcelo explains why it is important to have the opposite of attacking the Half Guard from both sides: [I] If your opponent wins the Underhook and forces you to Backstep, look to find the Reverse Underhook. However, if your opponent tries to gain the Far Underhook on you from his Reverse Half, step back over into the ¾-Mount position while also trapping his arm onto your lap. Step your foot across his face and sit to the side for the Monoplata vs Half Guard. [II] If your opponent secures the Far Underhook and sweeps up to his knees, frame his face/shoulders and swing your leg down hard onto his shoulder for the Omoplata.
