3 Part Lesson — Marcelo constantly has a back-up plan when passing: [I] If you get caught without an underhook and your opponent catches your leg in Deep Half, preventing your Back Step Pass Counter, push on his face and drive your knee/leg over his head to the opposite side; from here, look to gain the Far or Reverse Underhook to pass. If you don't have Head Control, as is the case with the Reverse Underhook, travel to the North/South Position to establish top control. [II] If your opponent grabs your belt and uses his elbow on your back to cause trouble, wing your elbow backward and capture his arm under your armpit. [III] If you cannot land on top of his elbow, pummel for the Nearside Underhook and flip yourself back over to the original side for the Knee Slide Pass.
