3 Part Lesson — Marcelo finds the choke against an opponent who incessantly tries to escape the back: [I] If your opponent bridges his weight on top of you, take out your back hook and flip him back onto the bottom hook; keep your bottom hook strong and deep and either replace your top hook or cross your ankles around his hips to maintain your back control. [II] If you cannot hook flip your opponent back onto his side because he can still reach his foot to the mat, kick out his post before flipping him over. Search for the collar choke when he tries to escape and finish with the Katahajime under his arm or the Bow-N-Arrow if you cannot move his arm. [III] Incrementally tighten up your Katahajime by readjusting your grip along your sleeve, making the grip closer and closer to your wrist.
