Guillotine vs Half Guard → Kimura vs Half Guard → North South Choke → Armbar
3 Part Lesson — Marcelo explains a scenario where he uses the Kimura Grip: [I] If you find yourself in Half Mount you can look to wrap your arm around your opponent's neck for a Guillotine; even if you cannot find the finish, your squeeze will keep him preoccupied and perhaps give a chance to pass. If he begins to pummel for his Underhook while you don't have a great choking threat, spin around and distribute your weight heavily onto his arm with the Kimura Grip. You can use the Figure-Four Double Wristlock to help pass when the opponent tries to defend the submission. [II] Hold onto the Guillotine after you pass; if he tries to turn into you, you can drive him back flat with the Nelson/Guillotine. If he tries to turn away, you slide onto his neck for the North/South Choke. You can accomplish this same flow when holding the Kimura Grip after you pass to Side Control. Wait for your opponent to open up his chin and take his neck when you see the chance. [III] You can pass your leg over the opponent's head when he rocks up onto his side and control him with the Kimura from top. Step over his body and fall back for the Jujigatame/Armbar.
