2 Part Lesson — Marcelo highlights the key detail for success with his "Jogaforanolixo" Sweep: [I] Rise as vertically as possible after you extend your legs and release the hooks from X-Guard to stand up. There are a number of different methods for building your base back underneath your weight; chose whichever fits your somatype, physiological disposition, preference in laterality, etc. [II] Do not allow your opponent to turn his knee down toward the mat. Use your hand to brace under his leg and help turn his knee away from the ground. Keep your posture upright and your head adjacent to your opponent's shin to prevent his leg from slipping off of your shoulder.

It is a phrase in Brazilian Portuguese that roughly means "to take out the trash." Hoisting the leg atop your shoulder is reminiscent of carrying a bag of garbage outside to the dump. Don't take it too literally; nobody is comparing anyone to actual refuse.
