2 Part Lesson — Marcelo teaches hand-fighting skills: [I] Approach your opponent and meet his hands with your own. Look to secure his wrists from above to dominate the battle. Gain either variation of the 2on1, with under or over-handed grip, or choke down on his arm for Baseball-style Double-Up on the wrist. Use the 2on1 to clear his arms for a shot, to pull guard safely, or disengage from attack if your opponent shoots or pulls. [II] If you cannot readily control your opponent's wrist, offer up your own wrist to bait the opponent into the 2on1. Don't allow his grip to harden before you feed his hand into the control.
