3 Part Lesson — Marcelo has us work on two versions of Jogo-fora-no-lixo: [I] Pump your X-Hooks to push the opponent's weight backward as you rock up directly to your feet; immediately, rise up vertically and hide your arm from a Triangle Choke Counter. [II] If your opponent is resting his or her weight higher up by your shoulder, you cannot sit up to your feet with ease. Use your hook from the Deep Half Butterfly Position to make space for your X-Guard Hook formation. Make grips anywhere on the opponent to push them diagonally away and allow you to sit upright for the Take-Up.
