1 Part Lesson -- Paul shows an Armbar from Closed Guard with a subtle yet elucidating modification: Break your opponent's posture and clear his or her posts by bringing your knees to your shoulders while prying both elbows outward. When your opponent fights to win back the inside position with his or her arms, encircle the head and maintain the broken posture with a Gable-grip. If they continue to press away, hold the back of the head with one hand while pummeling for inside position with your forearm to insert your knee. Bringing your knee closer to the opponent's armpit shortens the distance required for the swivel transition in the Armlock (Shita-Jujigatame; 'Cross Lock from Below'). Underhook the opponent's leg and swing your leg over the opponent's head as you swivel underneath and trap the opponent's arm. Find and control the wrist and raise your hips to apply the hyper-extension to the elbow joint for the finish.
