Marcelo and David help Chris troubleshoot the entry and finish for the North/South Choke. If your opponent bridges their hips upwards from a supine position, they can close the space underneath their neck and prevent you from punching around for the strangle. Drive your weight onto their chest and arms to help mitigate the defensive bridging pressure and sink your armpit onto their throat, clasping your hands together with a Gable-Grip. Initially, Marcelo practiced finishing the choke with his Seat-Belt Grip but later found that he had trouble quickly finding the connection. Using the Gable-Grip is faster and easier to find when hunting for the finish. Shrug your lat and push your deltoid muscle down onto your opponent's neck for the tap-out. If your opponent tries to frame your face in defense, you can eat the pressure and wait for the choke to take effect, or you release your hands and swat the frames away as you remove your head and reconnect.
