Marcelo helps Savannah understand how to implement one of his favorite techniques to sweep an opponent, even for use against the highest levels of competition: Elongate your opponent's body, effectively reducing the rotational inertia about their longitudinal axis, by pulling their weight forward with Collar & Elbow Control. Place the sole of your foot against their knee on the same side you are controlling their arm to prevent a counter-sweep post. Your opposite leg may serve as an elevator, lifting the opponent over with either a Scissors or Butterfly-Hook. If you don't catch your opponent cleanly, immediately look to reset yourself and sit up for another technique or reaction.
