Marcelo gives some advice to Paul about connecting submission attacks: Experimenting with new transitions and combinations can be a tricky process; one must assess and account for any possible points of failure. Testing for weak spots in the succession of techniques is important for developing a sound and complete game. Paul notices that he may have a viable option to threaten his opponent's neck after they attempt to escape from an Arm-Lock via the so-called "Hitchhiker's Escape" (i.e. pronating outward while externally rotating the shoulder joint, a.k.a. the Fonzie, et al.); fortuitously, your legs can act as a temporary barrier and obstruct your opponent from hand-fighting against a Guillotine Choke. As long as the opponent cannot capitalize by finding a way to bind your legs together after their armbar escape, you are free to connect your hands together for the strangle, eventually swinging your far-leg across their back for a more secure finish.
