Over-Hook and Elbow-Control Hook-Sweep from Butterfly-Guard
Master Fabio Gurgel teaches how to convert a guard recovery into a sweep: After you've bumped your opponent with your inner-arm accompanied with a bridging escape, angle your shoulders perpendicularly to their chest while framing against their hip; if they work to recompose their posture rather than switching their base with a sit-through, they will leave a gap for you to swing your near-knee and far-foot inside for Butterfly-Guard. Brace against your opponent's far-shoulder while wrapping a whizzer around their Under-Hook; pummel your hand through and cup the inside of your own leg as a self thigh-pry (similar to a Shin-Whizzer vs Single-Leg in folk-style wrestling). This will give an anchor from which you can deliver downward pressure onto your opponent's Under-Hook and keep them from advancing their forward posture. If they do drive ahead rather than settling back, take them to the corner with a Hook-Sweep.
