Inverted Armbar from Butterfly
Marcelo and Kurt "Batman" Pellegrino briefly discuss the timing involved with successfully finishing with the Inverted Armbar from Butterfly Guard. If you wait too long after your opponent posts his hand on the mat, you may end up telegraphing the submission and giving him enough time to react with an escape. As soon as you hear his hand land on the mat by your ear, immediately strike his elbow with your forearm. Do this lightly, and again you will reveal your intentions too early and he will counter the armlock.
