2 Part Technique - You have to adjust your Hand Fighting from Butterfly to accommodate for the speed advantage your opponent has if he chooses to stand. Since he will be able to approach his controls much faster, disengage from the battle until you can reset your bearings and figure out what he is attempting for. If he insists on stepping forward into your guard after you've scooted back several times in retreat, you can capitalize on his aggressiveness and ready yourself with entry into the 1Leg X Guard by circling your instep in front of his incoming shin. If he remains standing while you assume the Single Leg Control, scoot your hips under his base as if mounted, and lock on the 1Leg X. If he begins crossing his shin over for the Knee Slide Pass, change your path to the 1Leg X by swiveling under his base and kicking his leg onto your lap.
