Underhook & Head vs Deep Half Guard, Half Guard to Mount, Mount to Knee on Belly
Munchie asks Marcelo how to pass Deep Half Guard while he maintains Underhook & Head Control. Marcelo insists that the crossface needs to be very tight, and emphasis should be placed on closing the distance between your shoulder and Gable Grip. Drive your knee over to the farside, and free yourself from the half guard by crossing your legs and wedging your shin onto his nearside thigh. Don't use your ankle, like how Munchie first attempts to do, to break open the half; you will need to employ much more of your body weight. As his guard splits open, raise your underhook higher up and either settle into the mount, or cross your other shin onto his belly so you may correctly stabilize the Side Control.
