3 Part Technique - During the Hand-Fight for passing controls, your opponent may opt for a Collar Grip from his Open Guard. Respond appropriately by yanking off his grip, clearing his feet from your hips, and pinning his arm into his body with 2on1 Control. The pass you choose next will depend on your stance and which arm your opponent used to grab your collar. In Marcelo's case, he is a Southpaw-Passer (Right Leg Lead); therefore, if he holds a left-side 2on1, he will hop out to Open Half Guard and cross with the Knee Slide Pass. If he is holding onto the 2on1 the opposite way, i.e. matching his right lead, he will step out to Reverse Half Guard and finish the Back Step Pass. *Advanced Users* If Marcelo's demonstration does not match up with your particular stance, click the video player option "Mirror On" to watch Marcelo teach the instructional from your perspective.
