Armbar from Mount, Grip-Breaking from Armlock Position
3 Part Lesson — Marcelo identifies an several important details when attempting the Armbar from Mount: [I] Before translating your legs across the face and chest of your opponent, make sure to press his arm across his body while also turning his face in the opposite direction; this will help you keep tight during the transition. [II] Analyze your opponent's hands to best break his grip against your Armbar. Always pry at the hand connected to the armbar; this involves either scraping from over the top or pulling from underneath to disconnect his defense. [III] There are many types of grip defense for the armbar, but most of them can be dealt with in a similar fashion as stated previously. However, if his hands are well connected, chances are his wrists are exposed for tugging.
