X-Guard Entry, Unbalance Sweep from X-Guard, Deep Half Guard Entry from Butterfly Guard
2 Part Lesson — Marcelo explains the importance of developing a reflexible tension for your favorite sweeping positions: [I] For example, upon entering the X-Guard from Butterfly, you have to prepare for your opponent's ability to escape from your control with explosiveness. Whether the far or near leg, if the opponent tries to yank out of your control, immediately counter his explosion with implosion; i.e. retard his force by increasing the tension of your hooks and grips. [II] This idea applies to many positions, including the Deep Half Guard and Reverse De-La-Riva. You have to maintain an alertness in your go-to positions with the attitude that your opponent must pay for his mistake, and not letting him off the hook too easily.
