2 Part Lesson — Marcelo offers tips for increasing the success of sweeps from X-Guard: [I] After the opponent retracts his hands from the Hand-Fight against your Butterfly Guard, seize both of his collars and Hook Lift them onto 1Leg X, immediately following with a sweep. But sometimes, if you feel the opponent is tall, strong, or has a good base, you always have the opportunity to work the far leg with X-Guard, switching your arm from over to under the near leg. [II] While looking for the Unbalance Sweep from X-Guard, if you can capture their near sleeve and pass it off to your underhooking hand, bump their bicep with your free arm to generate more force into the sweep. At the very least, capturing the near sleeve in your other hand will prevent the opponent from easily posting against the sweep. When you land, immediately look to take more from him by controlling and/or passing his legs right away. [III] If the opponent knows you want his near sleeve, he may try to unhook your legs from his with his far hand. When this happens, capture the far sleeve. If he tries to break your grip, use this opportunity to grab the near sleeve for the sweep. If he avoids letting you grab either sleeve, either sweep him back to make him post for a grip, or simply execute the full sweep by taking advantage of his higher center of gravity.

Can someone tell me how I can avoid just throwing someone into a mount on top of me? Tried the 1 leg X entry today and that's what happened.
