2 Part Technique - The Cross Arm and Belt Sweep was Marcelo's strongest sweep as a purple belt. After breaking the opponent's grip from your lapel, use the Cross Arm and Belt Control to take advantage of the situation. It is best to not only grab the belt, but the Gi too for the most secure control possible. If your opponent opponent leans to the opposite side to prevent the Sweep, work the Hook Sweep to that side instead. Knock away your opponent's posting arm by either pulling up or blocking down, depending on where the arm was posted.
