2 Part Lesson — Marcelo concludes his Stacking Pass series with the Turning Pass: [I] Capture your opponent's ankle between your legs and hug his knee close to your chest if you cannot readily lift him up with Double/Under Control for the Stacking Pass. Once captured, begin climbing upward to secure upper body control for the pin and pass. However, if your opponent happens to frame well against this pressure, switch directions and face the opposite way, swimming across with a Reverse Underhook for the Turning Pass. After freeing your leg from his guard, run to the North/South Position to establish the pass; always utilize your body weight whenever you cannot clasp your hands together around the opponent to pin him down. [II] As a reminder, it is important to realize that with innovation of technique, the consequences of your actions may also change. For example, if you wish to retain your control over the opponent's hips with your arms in order to trap his ankle with your leg, understand that if not executed properly, you are vulnerable for an attack on your foot.
