2 Part Lesson — Marcelo explains the Gi-Version of his Guillotine, The Loop Choke: [I] Similarly to how you secure an opponent's collar across his throat for a Choke from the Back, e.g. Cleaning, feeding, and un-slacking your grip with the assistance of your under-hand, the very same methods can be implemented from the Front Headlock Position using your free over-hand for the Loop Choke. Traditionally, the finish for the Loop Choke is made by weaving your free hand over the opponent's head, through the loop, and reverse cupping your own arm. Marcelo believes the best finish comes from breaking your opponent down with a Cradle and keeping them flat with your weight, using your free hand to block the opponent's hip. [II] If your opponent is able to roll you onto your back while trying to finish the Loop Choke, take your hand that was blocking his hip and place it tightly around his back to secure the position from the bottom for the squeeze.
