Elbow Push Escape vs Side Control to Straight Armbar → Elbow Push Escape to Front Headlock → Elbow Push Escape to Guard
3 Part Lesson — Marcelo runs us through his series for the Elbow-Push Escape: [I] If you feel resistance while trying to push your opponent off of you with the Elbow Push Escape, transfer your grip to his forearm and try extending his arm for Steven Seagal's Wakigatame. If they roll through to avoid the tap, try again for the finish but don't lose the top position if you lose his arm. [II] If you cannot extend his arm out for the Wakigatame, quickly spin around and latch onto the Front Headlock Position for safety. [III] If you realize your opponent is postured up too high to place him under the Front Headlock, opt to push his chest for space and resume your guard or come back to your knees.
