2 Part Technique - Always prevent the opponent from securing an Under Hook if he advances to Half Guard. The opponent will commonly substitute the important Under Hook Control for Head Control with shoulder pressure instead. Use the Elbow Push to escape the position by forcing his arm away before he can establish the Head Control. If you cannot extend his elbow away for the escape, use a transition instead by sitting up and circling your legs out to expose the opponent's back for the Seat Belt control.
