2 Part Lesson — Marcelo teaches us how to not mentally attach to the loss of control: [I] Attempting to pass your opponent's guard from Combat Base, if you lose the underhook while forcing Half Guard, don't hesitate on your next movement; immediately catch your weight on your hands and use the posts to help whip your outside leg to the opposite side into Inverted Half Guard. Upon landing, immediately pummel for the Underhook; if you can pull him onto his side, you can free up your other arm to look for chokes, but if he pulls away from your control and stays flat, bind up his head along with the Underhook. [II] If your opponent block you from the second attempt at the Underhook from Inverted Half, again, don't vacillate on the miss, instead, return back to Regular Half with a Front Step over to the original side and look to pummel for an Underhook once more.
