Knee on Belly → Sprawl vs Single Leg from Side Control
2 Part Lesson — Marcelo acquires points from Side Control: [I] If your opponent is content with staying underneath your Side Mount, take the opportunity to encourage movement and increase your lead by hopping up to the Knee-On-Belly position; form a grip behind the neck on the collar and grab his belt/pants with your other hand. Allow your elbow to block his legs from tracing back inside and replace your wall with your knee without creating extraneous space. Do not commit your weight forward, across the opponent's centerline, to avoid getting reversed out of the position or falling back to guard. [II] If your opponent turns into your knee onto his side, use your grips to help drive him back flat with your shoulder and chest. Once flat, you can spring back up into position for the two points.
