2 Part Lesson — Marcelo seeks to exploit an imbalance to recover his guard: [I] If your opponent attempts a Folding Pass and transitions to a Leg-Mount, preventing your feet and knees from pressing him away, immediately grab his arm that is in front of you. Prevent him from making a grip on your collar and seize control of his sleeve, wrist or forearm to help create spac for your top leg to escape. Unfold your top leg so that your knee can start shield against the opponent's chest and allow you to further recover your guard. [II] If your opponent has the Tripod Position after the Folding Pass and you cannot readily find the space to free your knee from out the top, begin lifting his hips with a Reverse Butterfly Hook to either recover Open Guard or find Partial-X.
