3 Part Technique - You have to be prepared to defend against an opponent who takes your back from a more traditional position rather than with the more superior Seatbelt Control. If he runs behind your hips as you attempt the Hip Roll Escape, hide your upper back from him by rolling straight over onto your shoulder and open up his arms to free one of your legs. Use your free leg to help twist back around to recover the guard. If he drops weight onto your hips, preventing you from escaping your leg, twist onto your side into the Folded Guard, not allowing your opponent to clamp down on your torso for the Folding Pass. Use your folded butterfly hook to lift his leg up onto your shoulder for an X-Guard or Partial X-Guard Entry, and finish with the Takedown Sweep.

Leeone88, try asking technique questions in the forums. You'll get a lot more responses.

This seems like it can be implemented during a leg drag position before the opponent controls the hip...or if you can break that grip. Any thoughts? I think this would be an awesome transition to X-guard from the leg drag.

We normally ask our students to refrain from inquiring about the techniques until after the lesson has been recorded. So for current and future visitors to the Academy, please be courteous and remain silent while the instructors teach :)
