3 Part Lesson - Marcelo recovers his Guard after getting forced to Half Guard: [I] If your opponent dives into your Seated Guard to force you into Half Guard, turn onto your side and prevent him from establishing an Underhook; create a Frame against his neck and avoid letting him control your other arm with an Overhook by pummeling for the inside. Hip Escape and place your foot on his hip to push yourself free back to Full Guard or insert a Butterfly Hook to lift the opponent off when he is heavy. Claim the Underhook when recovering your guard back from the Butterfly/Half position. [II] If your opponent pushes you flat before you can effectively create a frame against his neck and chest, work your opposite hand to the outside against his Overhook and grab his belt to stifle his Underhook. Next, trap his knee on the side of his Underhook and perform a Bridge to execute the Tilt Sweep. [III] If you cannot reverse to the top position, fill the space you've created to recover your guard with an Underhook.
