2 Part Lesson -- Marcelo defends against passing pressure from Half Guard: If your opponent gets close with Double Under-Hooks against your Half-Guard, build a frame by pushing your opponent's head and shoulders down and away from your head, and accompany that with hip escapes while still holding a Figure-4 around your opponent's leg. When your Frame is together, make space for an Under-Hook or Knee-Shield and recover. You can also use the Under-Hook to transition into Half-Butterfly and find a Hook-Sweep. [06:41] Use a Reverse (Outside) Lock-Down against your opponent's leg if they are following your with their knee as you try to make space with your Hip-Escapes. Lace their shin with your Figure-4 and extend their leg to help open up enough space for you to pummel your foot inside as a Butterfly-Hook. If there still isn't enough room to Frame, switch your feet from outside to inside of your opponent's legs and plant them for a Bridge Sweep (John Wayne Sweep). If they post to stop the sweep, use the space they make to pummel your Under-Hook and continue recovering back your position.
