Guillotine from Standing → Guillotine from Closed Guard
2 Part Lesson — Paul shows the Standing Guillotine as a counter to a tackle: [I] Brace for impact by placing both hands outstretched against the opponent's shoulders as your feet find the proper footing to keep your body at an angle and away from control. Use your non-dominant hand to snap the opponent's head down onto the radial edge of your opposite forearm. Tuck the head underneath your armpit and connect your hands together using a thumbless, Ball-n-Socket Grip. Try mobilizing your elbow on top of the opponent's shoulder for the more advanced finish. [II] If you cannot find the proper leverage to finish the chokehold from standing, step on the opponent's toes and sit down into the Closed Guard. Move your hips out at an angle to help place pressure on the back of the opponent's head as you raise the blade of your arm into the throat for the tap.
