Guard Recovery vs Folding Pass > Double Under Control from Butterfly
2 Part Lesson -- Marcelo pummels out of trouble against a tight pass: If your opponent fails to climb and crawl up the length of your body to secure the pass, you can rely on the previous lesson's technique where you can whip your legs into a sweep. However, if your opponent successfully chases your hips and begins grabbing higher up on your torso, greet the advance with Double Underhooks. Once pummeled, use the control to flick the opponent up into the air for a 1LX Guard sweep or hit a Hook Sweep with Elbow Control. [03:45] Marcelo has his students reflect on the importance of utilizing an Underhook to help divert the pass into a more favorable battle. Rounds are set where specific training is applied; each pair must work to pass or recover given the respective top and bottom positions.
